Ecolibrium3

Ecolibrium3 (Eco3 to our friends) works at the intersection of economic vitality, ecological sustainability, and equity – and our mission is at the core of it all. We are a non-profit organization based in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth.

Whether we are helping to turn around an urban neighborhood—and making sure the renewal benefits everyone, making homes more energy efficient (including renters and low-income residents), advocating for climate resilience, placing AmeriCorps VISTA members throughout our community to advance anti-poverty and sustainability practices, or making sure our Main Street LNPK entrepreneurs can find the resources they need – we are continually innovating  within our programs to respond to the real needs of our community. And our innovative work has been nationally recognized for its effectiveness and impact.

Our Community Programs Include:

Eco3 ENERGY

  • Coordinate the Duluth Citizens’ Climate Action Plan.
  • Expand our weatherization services, including free home energy audits.
  • Make the housing stock in our community  more energy-efficient.
  • Develop the Lincoln Park Solar Garden, a community-owned solar array that serves low-income residents and veterans.

Eco3 VISTA

  • Renovate a condemned building, named the Legacy House, in our neighborhood to affordably house VISTA members.
  • Support the VISTA program, which in turn supports 20 organizations in northeastern Minnesota working on food access, energy poverty, the digital divide, STEM education, climate resilience, and community health.

Eco3 LNPK

  • Turn blighted properties into affordable housing.
  • Reduce food insecurity.
  • Build a sustainable food system including urban farms, community gardens, and distribution.
  • Create and promote informal STEAM education opportunities for our middle school students in Lincoln Park.

Main Street Lincoln Park

  • Promote our creative small-business community.
  • Help grow new minority-owned businesses.
  • Improve walk- and bike-ability along Lincoln Park’s Superior Street cooridor.
  • Providing promotion, design, and economic vitality resources and leadership to keep our up-and-coming entrepreneurs up-and-coming.
