AmeriCorps Legacy Building

AmeriCorps volunteers help communities address their most pressing problems. In Duluth, members are building access to healthy food, weatherizing homes for veterans, repairing historic structures, teaching children to read, visiting seniors, and creating systems to combat the opioid epidemic.
Although members work full-time, their living stipend is below the federal poverty level, making finding affordable housing in Duluth very difficult.
The inaugural cohort of Ecolibrium3’s Resilience Corps is jointly tackling this challenge through redevelopment of a condemned home in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
By July 2018, the AmeriCorps Legacy Building will provide sustainable housing to future community service volunteers while simultaneously reducing neighborhood blight in the core of our community.
