Meet Thang Nguyen, Eco3 VISTA member who served at Health Equity Northland as Development Associate. In his role Thang helped support Equity Northland's mission of building health equity in order to positively impact the health and well-being of everyone.
Meet Gus Jaynes, Eco3 VISTA member who served as the Food Sovereignty VISTA with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. In his role, Gus expanded the capacity of the Fond du Lac Band's food programs to feed the community, promote positive health outcomes, and build socioeconomic resiliency.
Meet Nicole, Eco3 VISTA member who served as the Disaster Resilience VISTA with the Ready North Network at the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. Nicole helped Ready North expand its ability to help communities prepare to be resilient to disasters.
Meet Jaeger Moser, Eco3 VISTA member serving at Ecolibrium3 as the Energy Program Coordinator VISTA. His focus was on developing outreach strategies to help community members get signed up for one of Ecolibrium3's energy programs, which are designed to reduce their home energy use and utility bills.
Meet Gabby Mirabito, Eco3 VISTA member who served as the Community Development Coordinator VISTA at Zeitgeist Center for Arts and Community. Gabby oversaw the outreach and planning of community events with a focus on celebrating, educating and empowering active living and people-powered multi-modal transportation to help build a more accessible, healthy, and sustainable community.
Meet Liz Axberg, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served at the Duluth Art Institute (DAI). In her role, Liz expanded the capacity of DAI to increase its reach and accessibility of the arts in Duluth. Liz's work supported the powerful role art has in empowering communities and bringing people together.
Meet Madison Nareski, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served as the Outreach and Policy Coordinator VISTA with Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative. Madison managed the Big Red Bookshelf program, facilitated the Big Red Bookshelf Coalition, recruited and managed volunteers, and assisted in writing grants.
Meet Anna Clough, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served with Saint Louis County Public Health. Anna was the COVID-19 Liaison to community partners throughout the county and was part of the county's COVID-19 response team.
Meet Aly Brewer, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served as the Environmental and Food Justice VISTA at Community Action Duluth. Aly played an active role in operating farmers markets, helped expand the reach of the Mobile Market, and contributed to the conservation of Duluth’s natural areas through Duluth Stream Corps.
Meet Ryan Babcock, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served as Resilient Communities Systems VISTA with the University of Minnesota Northeast Regional Sustainable Development Partnership. Throughout his service, Ryan played an integral part in building the relationships and connections that help bring needed resources like mental health services to rural communities.
Meet Stephanie Bramwell, Eco3 VISTA member who served as the City of Northfield Sustainability Associate VISTA. Stephanie researched opportunities for the City of Northfield to implement its transportation climate action goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation within the city and improving access to a variety of transportation methods for all residents of Northfield.
Meet Maria Groth, Eco3 VISTA Member who served at Community Action Duluth's Community Construction program. Maria assisted the Community Construction program in its work aimed at providing transitional employment and more affordable housing in Duluth.
Meet Alena Whitaker, Eco3 VISTA Corps member who served as Agriculture and Food Systems VISTA with the University of Minnesota Northeast Regional Sustainable Development Partnership. Alena worked with many groups focused on food access and equitability, climate change solutions, and land access for farming or foraging in the Northland.
Meet Zachary Klokstad, Eco3 VISTA who served as Community Liaison with Oldenburg Arts and Cultural Community (OACC). Zachary's work facilitated the gathering of local wisdom, talent, geography, and history in Carlton county and the Fond du Lac area for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps VISTA members dedicate a year of service to help eradicate poverty in Duluth, MN, and surrounding areas by building the capacity of the organizations they serve. Thirty amazing VISTAs joined us in 2021 and 2022, and their year is wrapping up this month. We are so grateful to all of them for their commitment to Eco3 and the Northland, and so appreciative of the work they did and the lasting impact it will have on the communities in Northern MN! In spite of the year starting out with a few of the COVID pandemic restrictions remaining, our 2021-2022 VISTA team still made significant impacts in the community.
Our new AmeriCorps VISTAs arrive on August 15, 2022. And though one year ends….another begins!
