Once again, summer has flown by and the Eco3 Urban Farm has been busy with a successful season of growth and harvest. From our Saturdays at the Farm event series, to hosting a Summer Shindig, our calendar has been packed with an abundance of community engagement and learning.
We gathered with community members for the Summer Shindig at the Lincoln Park Pavilion on August 22. This event was hosted by Duluth Food Web, a collaborative of sustainable food organizations that includes but is not limited to Ecolibrium3, Community Action Duluth, UMD Land Lab, and the U of M Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (RSDP).
Brats from YKer Acres, collards from Fairhaven Farm, potato salad from UMD Land Lab, wild rice dishes from American Indian Community Housing Organization, and a veggie platter and ranch from the Eco3 Urban Farm made up an array of sustainably sourced picnic cuisine.
The Eco3 Farm also celebrated a fruitful harvest with a good old-fashioned corn roast. On September 14, visitors at the Farm enjoyed a lunch of roasted corn picked fresh on site. The lovely fall weather added to the festive atmosphere. Bring family and friends to our last Saturdays at the Farm to help us celebrate and share our produce!
Keep an eye on the Farm Events page and the Eco3 Facebook page for updates on our next special programming. The last 2024 Saturdays at the Farm will be held September 28, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Stop by to enjoy the fall weather and gather what’s left of our produce.
Bring closed-toed shoes, water and snacks, sun protection, and any mobility aids you might need to navigate uneven ground. We hope to see you there!
The address for the Farm is 2101 Trinity Rd, Duluth, MN.
The Farm is also marked on Google Maps under the name “Ecolibrium3 Urban Farm”.
