Access to hot water, especially in the winter months, is very important for health and safety. That’s why when local Duluthian Marjorie called us in February to tell us her hot water heater was no longer working we acted fast to ensure she would get a new water heater as quickly as possible.
Thanks to Northstar Heating and Cooling we were able to replace Marjorie’s old water heater with a new one within a week and ensure that her home had hot water once again. With grant funds provided to us by the City of Duluth, this replacement that normally would have cost over $3,000 was able to be completed at no cost to the homeowner.
Along with providing her with essential hot water during the winter this new, more efficient water heater will reduce her energy use and save her money on her utility bills.
Jaeger Moser, our Eco3 Energy AmeriCorps VISTA member, was in direct contact with and helped Marjorie throughout the process. “She was in an emergency situation and I’m glad we were able to get her help so quickly. It felt really good to directly help a member of our community.”
