Eco3’s Energy Training Corps Offers Home Modifications and Weatherizations

Our Summer Energy Training Corps (ETC) crew has been working hard since they arrived at the beginning of June. They have already learned many valuable skills in the energy field and completed seven weatherizations that will help older adults age safely in their homes.

We at Eco3 believe it is important to have a safe, comfortable, and cost-efficient home. Through these modifications, we aim to create a space where residents feel secure living in as they age. Our ultimate goal is to expand our home modification services to make homes healthier for everyone.

The ETC summer team has been working in partnership with the Lighthouse Center for Vital Living on a project to expand age-friendly home modifications. Through this collaboration, the team helped install various grab bars and handrails, repair flooring, and make rooms in homes more accessible, in addition to our other standard weatherization work. Our Eco3 Energy Team is grateful to the Lighthouse Center for Vital Living for partnering with us to help provide these important upgrades to our local community members.

Look out for future announcements about how the Eco3 Energy Team will be expanding our aging-in-place and healthy homes work. If you or someone you know is 65 years or older and would be interested in home safety assessments, simple home modifications, or weatherization, please feel free to contact us. Additionally, if you have other energy-related questions or needs regarding home energy assessments, weatherizations, etc., please reach out to us by phone at 218-203-0464 or by email at energy@ecolibrium3.org
