New Staff Feature: Sarah

The latest addition to our staff at Ecolibrium3 is Communications Manager Sarah Kjorlien (pronounced “jor-lean”). Sarah will be working with our outreach, research, and fundraising efforts to share our work near and far.

Sarah has been a life-long supporter of sustainability work through volunteering, from political canvassing to organic farming. She has fond memories of organizing and event planning with the Student Environmental Alliance during her undergraduate education at Concordia College in Moorhead, where she graduated with a degree in music education. For the past ten years, her passion for sustainability work has taken a back seat to her teaching career. Sarah earned a Masters in Instrumental Conducting while teaching in Arizona. For the past six years, she has taught abroad in Dubai. Over time, Sarah felt inspired to return to environmental sustainability, this time in a professional capacity. She completed an online Masters degree in Public Policy while teaching and moved back to Minnesota to search for jobs in the field. She now lives in Hillside with her husband and two very silly dogs. Sarah is thrilled to be joining the Ecolibrium3 team, realizing her goal of working in environmental sustainability and community resilience.

Sarah was initially drawn to Ecolibrium3 because of the organization’s dedication to working for large-scale change while solving everyday problems. She is committed to ensuring that everyone in the Lincoln Park area feels the benefits of Ecolibrium3’s work.
