It’s that time of year! The weather is getting cooler, and our Eco3 Energy Team is eager to start our full home energy assessment season once again. If you’ve noticed ice dams on your roof, cold spots in certain rooms, or unexpected spikes in your energy bills, we may be able to help you find ways to save energy and money.
Sign up for a home energy assessment to learn more about your home as a system! Our current home energy assessment includes:
- Testing leaks in your home with a blower door test.
- Finding cold spots with temperature-sensing infrared cameras.
- Testing the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems and appliances.
- Looking over your energy usage from utility companies to find ways to save.
- Providing small direct-install improvements that help your home save energy.
- Providing a detailed report after your assessment with tailored, cost-saving suggestions, infrared pictures, and the option to go over your energy navigation options with our staff.
We strive to make our services accessible to everyone in our community so that homes can be as efficient and comfortable as possible. That’s why we offer our services for free to those who meet our Income Qualifications. For those who do not meet the income limits, we also offer a pay-out-of-pocket option with the potential for rebates and bill credits from local utilities. Depending on what our auditor finds from your home energy assessment, you may qualify for free or reduced-cost weatherization services as well! Due to the added capacity of our Energy Training Corps, we have been able to offer more weatherization services than ever before.
For those who are interested in a smaller home energy assessment, Minnesota Power customers have the option to schedule a free assessment through the Home Energy Support Program instead. At Eco3, it is our goal to connect you with the best resource and program that fits your needs.

With our infrared imaging, we get the best results with a 15-degree temperature difference between the inside and outside of the home, so cooler-weather months are most effective. Contact us soon!
