What is AmeriCorps?

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in your community? Well, AmeriCorps may be just the program for you. AmeriCorps is simply explained as, “Americans of all ages and backgrounds dedicating time and skills to get things done.” This video explains it nicely in more detail:

In the Northland, Ecolibrium3 is helping get things done by serving as a sponsor and host organization for the AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program. VISTA is the anti-poverty branch of the AmeriCorps program, so we place members at impactful nonprofit, government, and community-based organizations dedicated to finding solutions to poverty-related challenges. Our volunteers have dedicated their skills to hundreds of hours of service in the community by developing programs to engage underrepresented and underserved youth, strengthening our communities’ ability to respond to natural disasters, planning local campaigns to address issues of opioid use and abuse, and fundraising thousands of dollars for charity, and more.

Our AmeriCorps VISTA members are dedicated to strengthening Duluth and the surrounding areas making the Northland a better place for all by getting things done. If you want to learn more about AmeriCorps or have questions about serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at Ecolibrium3, get in touch.
