Last month, we received a $10,000 contribution from the Park State Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank Grant to support our efforts to bring affordable housing to Lincoln Park. This funding will help us put the finishing touches on the Legacy House so it is move-in ready. Thank you to Park State Bank for making this happen!
Since our last update on drywall installation and painting, we have begun the next phase of the Legacy House renovation, finishing materials. Finishing is the phase where the empty rooms start to take shape into the finished product. This includes typical things a home dweller expects to see when walking into a house.
We have nearly completely installed the click-in style floors on the first floor, and we are soon to finish the same flooring in the two upstairs half bathrooms. The Carpenter’s Training Institute has recently held a multi-day apprenticeship program and installed railings, door and closet trim, and set the tracks for the bedroom closet doors. Eco3 has continued with spackling, sanding, and painting various aspects as we work to get as much of the “messy” work done before the carpets are installed upstairs.
