As the cold weather kicks in, we’re wrapping up the first season of hosting an e-bike fleet at Eco3. Since May, our team has logged over 1800 miles on bikes loaned out by BikeMN’s E-bike Commuter Assistance Program (ECAP). It has been an incredible opportunity to increase ridership for commutes, meetings, and leisure. For seasoned riders, it has extended trip mileage, and for newer riders, it has been an accessible entry into the world of cycling. Cycling to work is a great alternative to driving that helps meet our goals outlined in the Duluth Citizens’ Climate Action Plan.
We are very grateful to BikeMN and the Duluth Folk School for launching this program, and we’re excited to announce that we will continue hosting our fleet into next year! Things will slow down once the snow flies, but there will still be a few of us bracing the cold on two wheels until next spring.
