Hospital Protocols:

Essentia Health: Individuals are encouraged to use Essentia’s E-visit screening if they are experiencing symptoms and call before coming to a clinic. They are working on drive up testing soon. No visitors are allowed to the hospital.

If you think you have COVID-19:

  • Stay home if you are mildly ill, except for medical care. Do not go to work, school or public areas. Avoid public transportation.
  • Separate yourself from other people and animals in your home. Use a separate bathroom, if possible.
  • Call ahead before visiting your health care provider
  • Wear a face mask around others
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes, wash hands often
  • Clean high-touch surfaces daily
  • Older patients and those with severe underlying medical conditions or are immunocompromised should contact their provider early, even if their illness is mild

St. Luke’s

Basic Info:

  • The vast majority of patients who have COVID-19 will have mild symptoms that require no treatment.
  • Testing for COVID-19 is limited only to symptomatic patients who have traveled or have been exposed to an individual with the disease.
  • The treatment for most people with COVID-19 is to stay home, away from other people, be diligent about hygiene and rest. There is no current cure for COVID-19.
  • You should be evaluated by a medical professional if you have a fever AND cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Call your health care provider or visit slhduluth.com/eCare for an online visit.
