In the newly established role of Director of Aging Initiatives, Georgia Lane brings 20+ years of leadership in the aging services sector, most recently with the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA), where she led regional efforts to help communities and organizations adopt an age-friendly lens. She believes that aging is a gift—and she is deeply passionate about reshaping how we think, talk, and act about aging in our communities.

Georgia has been a champion of the Duluth Age-Friendly initiative since its launch in 2021 and is a founding member of the steering committee through her previous role with AAAA.  Duluth Age-Friendly is an initiative jointly led by Duluth Aging Support and Ecolibrium3. Georgia is eager to bring hands-on leadership to further advance Duluth’s journey toward becoming a community where people of all ages can live, work, and thrive.

An age-friendly community commits to being inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to all generations—especially older adults. This means improving infrastructure, services, and policies that support health, social participation, and dignity. Key focus areas include housing, transportation, civic engagement, community services, social connection, and public spaces. The age-friendly framework developed by the World Health Organization aligns seamlessly with the mission and community revitalization goals at Eco3.

As Director of Aging Initiatives, Georgia will guide and strengthen current Duluth Age-Friendly projects and programs, provide community outreach and education, cultivate strategic partnerships to expand services and capacity, and help embed an age-friendly perspective across all levels of Ecolibrium3’s work.  Georgia also offers trainings on reframing aging, age- and dementia-friendly practices, the longevity economy, fostering social connection, age-friendly businesses, and more. She holds a BA in Sociology from the College of St. Benedict and an MA in Social Work from the University of Minnesota.

Outside of work, Georgia enjoys life with her husband, Andy, and their two children, Ilona (11) and Henrik (8). Together they embrace a full and lively schedule—camping, hiking, skiing, hockey, dance, yoga, volunteering in the community, tending a flock of backyard chickens, and doing their best to manage busy schedules!

Please join us in welcoming Georgia to the Eco3 team—we are thrilled to have her leadership, vision, and energy guiding this important work.  If you’d like to learn more, you can reach her at georgia@ecolibrium3.org or 218-206-6867.
