Since last year, Ecolibrium3 has been developing the Eco3 Energy Training Corps. This is a first-of-its-kind program to equip members with valuable hands-on experience and industry-recognized certifications. The goals of the program are to train members to conduct home energy assessments, perform home energy improvements, and complete the much-needed work to improve the efficiency of Duluth’s aging housing stock. Now is the time to join the Energy Training Corps, as energy jobs in Minnesota are booming.
According to Clean Energy Economy MN, the energy industry continues to grow, with nearly 1,700 jobs added last year. This is twice the overall job growth rate across all industries in Minnesota. Additionally, 70% of energy industry jobs are in construction and professional services, making the Eco3 Energy Training Corps a great stepping stone to get into these energy industry jobs.
Crew Members in the Energy Training Corps will prepare for future energy industry jobs by learning to implement core concepts of building science and energy efficiency, perform energy assessments, conduct energy upgrades (such as air sealing and insulation), use various tools, and follow safety protocols. Crew Members will also be able to obtain BPI Building Science Principles and Building Analyst and OSHA Construction Safety to prepare them for future energy industry jobs beyond the Energy Training Corps.
