Lake Superior College Sustainability

Lake Superior College has made it one of its missions to become stewards of the physical environment by leading the college and surrounding local community to be more environmentally sustainable. The college is committed to: 1) conserving natural resources and supporting its natural reuse; 2) conducting activities on campus that protects the environmental health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and St. Louis county communities; 3) promoting perspectives that consider the natural environment, local action, and global impact. 

Lake Superior College has made initiatives and plans to naturally manage stormwater on its site, track its emissions, and develop several opportunities for recycling and composting on campus. In regards to education, the college has created degree options in sustainable management and eco-entrepreneurship, it manages and sustains the Miller Creek Interpretive Trail, and also hosts a blog on sustainability and new initiatives that the institution is pursuing with the student body and local community.
