Energy production accounts for the majority of Duluth’s greenhouse gas emissions—1,232,175 tons—which is 57% of our GHG emissions.
The item that would make the greatest impact on reducing our community’s GHG emissions is removing coal and gas from the mix of our energy sources. This alone would remove 37% of our community’s greenhouse gas emissions, 800,914 tons.
