“Superior Grown” Label

The Western Lake Superior region is home to a wide variety of diverse and sustainable local farming initiatives. The region’s overall abundance of food is recognized by the Superior Grown project, which is working to connect people to their regional food system by placing a label on food that is grown in the Western Lake Superior region. This label allows consumers and businesses to visibly connect to where their food is coming from, as well as help farmers promote their products.

When you buy products with the Superior Grown label, you are reducing your overall consumption of imported foods and keeping more dollars in your community. In addition, supporting local food reduces the miles food travels, therefore reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
