Solar Schools

The MN Department of Commerce provides funding to interested schools via the Solar for Schools Grant Program. The program guidelines focus on solar development at underserved school districts. Solar development will cut utility costs at schools, and better public health while simultaneously helping the environment.

Solar for Schools partners with the Clean Energy Resource Team (CERTs) to bring solar energy to schools across the state. CERTs provides multiple forms of assistance to schools, including technical assistance in the development process, as well as aiding in curriculum development which encompasses topics such as renewable energy public policies, installation considerations, and renewable careers.
