Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth’s Green Sanctuary Program

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion that emerged from a Jewish-Christian heritage. The faith tradition is diverse and inclusive. Unitarian Universalism affirms and promotes seven principles, grounded in the humanistic teachings of the world’s religions.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth (UUCD) is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association. It is a welcoming congregation that celebrates LGBTQ persons as well as members who hold a wide variety of theological views ranging from liberal Christianity, Buddhism, Humanism, and Atheism.

UUCD is the first in Minnesota to be a Certified UUA Green Sanctuary Congregation, promoting environmental and ecological standards through practice and education. The Green Sanctuary Program provides a framework through which congregations can develop and act on a commitment to the Earth and to the Seventh Principle— to affirm and promote respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
