City of Duluth Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and Forecast 2008

The Duluth Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory and Forecast 2008 is most recent GHG inventory the city has undertaken. It showed that we had emissions of 2,161,710 tons of GHG community-wide.

In 2008 our community sources of GHG emissions came from:
57% electricity (95% of this figure came from coal and gas)
14% gasoline
11% natural gas
7% fuel oil #5, #6
4% coal (steam plant)
4% diesel
2% fuel oil #1, #2, #4
1% other

And, the GHG emissions by sector were: 
31% industrial 
30% commercial 
20% residential 
18% transportation
1% waste
